Is an Apprenticeship right for me?We want you to have the best possible experience when taking on an apprenticeship with NTN. So it is important that you know before you make a long term commitment, whether the programme is right for you.
Your apprenticeship will last a minimum of 12 months
You must be working a minimum of 30 hours per week
Apprenticeships are a commitment and will take time and dedication (in and out of work)
Your employer will support your apprenticeship by:
Giving you time to complete your work
Provide access to IT and study space on site
You will be observedwhilst ‘on the job’ to evidence your skills and build your portfolio
Your tutor will meet with you every month to support your learning and every 8 weeks to review your progress
Will it cost me?Your training will be funded if you:
Do not have higher level qualifications (i.e. a Degree)
Want to complete the next level of your apprenticeship
Proof of eligibility and previous qualifications will be required at the start of the programme. Learning loans are available for those who wish to study but are ineligible for fundingEnglish & MathsAs part of your apprenticeship you will need to complete your Functional skills (English & Maths)
At Level 2 you will need to complete your level 1 functional skills
If you have achieved this already you will be exempt – this will be discussed at the induction meeting.
If you wish to stretch yourself you can apply to do your Level 2 functional skills alongside your apprenticeship.
Levels of Apprenticeship
Depending on your current skills and qualifications, there are three levels of apprenticeship you can apply for:
Intermediate Apprenticeship: Equivalent to 5 GCSEs, grades A* - C Advanced Apprenticeship: Equivalent to 2 A Levels Higher Apprenticeship: Equivalent to a Higher National Diploma or Foundation Degree
The programme works alongside your employment to build your knowledge, skills and confidence.
Your employer will also provide you with the time and support during your working hours to undertake qualifications and will be regularly involved in reviewing your progress throughout the course.
